Melville-based Racanelli Construction to build flight base office and hangar at Westhampton Beach airport
Posted: March 11th, 2010

Melville-based Racanelli Construction will build a new 5,000-square-foot flight base office and 20,000-square-foot hangar with tenant space for Sheltair Aviation Services at Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach.

Racanelli, which is serving as the general contractor on the $5.7 million project, will relocate an existing fuel farm, provide a new power source for the runway/taxiway lighting system, and build new irrigation, storm and sanitary systems.

Racanelli is handling all building approvals at the local and state levels and is currently assembling the subcontractor team. The project includes a prefabricated metal building with concrete footings and foundation, siding, metal roofing, millwork finishes, ceramic tile and carpet flooring.
